Hey, this is Sam from Family Handyman, and welcome to Under the Hood. Today I'm going to show you how to change out your cabin air filter.

The first thing you want to do is locate where the cabin air filter is kept, which is usually on this side of the car, the front passenger side. Sometimes it's underneath the glove box, sometimes it's right below it, and sometimes it's inside of it. For this particular car, it's actually located inside the glove box. So the first thing I want to do is remove anything that's inside the glove box so it's out of my way.

I can see two clips up here. I'm going to push down to open up where the housing is kept for the cabin air filter. I'm going to unlatch that clip and pull out this door for the housing, and there's my air filter right there. I take it out simply by pulling it out. I'm going to try to keep it facing up too, because there's probably going to be dirt in it, and I don't want that spilled out all over the vehicle. Yep, this definitely needed to be replaced, so I can just toss that.

Okay, now that the old air filter is removed, I'm going to replace it with this brand new one. I'm simply going to slide it into the housing slot, just like that. I'm going to push it all the way back so it fits. Then I put the housing door back on and put this cover back on. All right, we're good to go.

All right, guys, thanks for watching. For more Under the Hood videos, click on the link in the description below.
